1 . (100) Disney Movie: The Princess and the Frog (2009) I love this movie, it is one of my favorite Disney Princess movies. This movie was super cute, I've seen it way too many times to count. Other than Aurora and Belle, Tiana is my favorite Disney Princess, her fire and devotion to what she loves is so inspiring. Naveen is cute, from being a prince who is a selfish, money obsessed, womanizer, to a very sweet, sensitive, brave, dedicated and loving man. Is truly a great 180 performance of a prince character. I love Louis the trumpet playing alligator and Ray the firefly. They add the comedy that the movie needed. Charlotte, (what I am going to say is probably not going to be a popular opinion, but hear me out), is a very well rounded character that was truly an inspiration of that time period. Yes, she is extremely spoiled by her father, and obsessed with marrying a prince no matter what he is like. But considering in that time period, how most white people looked at people of color, it is amazing. Tiana, a young black girl-woman, who was Lottie's dress makers daughter was her absolute best friend that she was completely devoted to. She never mentioned anything about their different classes, she looked at Tiana as her equal. Whenever something good was happening she wanted Tiana to be the first person to know. At the Mardi Gras ball her father was hosting on their property, "Prince Naveen" had already arrived and had been dancing with Lottie, but she still comes over to talk to Tiana. She sees Tiana on the ground covered in a mess of food. She immediately cares about Tiana in that moment more than dancing with "the prince". She takes Tiana upstairs to help her clean up and gives her a beautiful ballgown costume to wear to the party as Tiana's other costume had been ruined and talks to her like a sister. When she see's that Tiana is better (For the most part) then she goes back to "the prince". Also when Charlotte sees that the real Prince Naveen and Tiana are in love, she gives up her requirement of marriage for a kiss and kisses him so her best friend and best friend's true love can turn back into humans. Although the kiss does not work because she kisses him after the clock already strikes midnight. All of that shows how much Charlotte truly cares about Tiana. She was a woman way ahead of her time. I also like the alternative way they explained the two main stars in the sky. One being Evangeline and then in the end Ray joins her as he becomes the other star. I could keep going on but I'll stop with the spoilers for this movie there. All and all a fantastic well rounded movie.
2. (101) Disney Movie: Alice in Wonderland (2010) Disney's first live action of Alice in Wonderland. Great cast, Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, Matt Lucas, Frances de la Tour, Michael Sheen, Lindsey Duncan, Christopher Lee, Timothy Spall, Imelda Staunton, Mia W., and others, but those are the main ones that I am very familiar with. Very good interesting take on it. Weird seeing Anne Hathaway with that white blonde hair color. Won't give a lot of spoilers this time, but I love how they do an adult version of Alice in this.
3. (102) Disney movie: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010) I've seen this movie about three times. Fun facts: the actor that played Prince Dastan did most of his own stunts, which is cool considering it's an action movie. Good cast. I like that Prince Dastan was not born a prince that the King saw greatness in him as a child, adopted him, and made him a prince, is very cool. I like the story line. The uncle is pure evil. Glad he got the ending he so deserved. I do recommend this movie as a good film to watch.
4. (103) Disney Movie: Toy Story 3 (2010) I've only seen this movie once. I wasn't into Toy Story at all growing up. Only saw all four movies in one weekend cause my friend wanted me to see Toy Story 4 in theaters with her and since I hadn't seen the first three she made watch all them the day before. This movie is referenced a lot in sitcoms and other movies. It's not my cup of tea but I know this franchise is very popular. A fifth movie is coming out in the next year or so.
5. (104) Disney Movie: The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010) This movie, in all aspects is almost perfect. It is funny, cute, lots of action, great cast and story line. Nicholas Cage and Jay Burchal are both perfect for these roles. Their comedy plays off each other like a friendship match made in heaven. I don't want to give any spoilers on this movie because it's so amazing that I want you to watch it with fresh eyes with surprises galore makes the movie even better.
6. (105) Disney Movie: Secretariat (2010) This is a movie about the most famous racehorse in history, triple crown winner Secretariat. It tells his whole story and the sacrifices his owner Penny Chenery made to make her father's legacy with their horse farm and with their horses mean something. Diane Lane played Penny Chenery in this film.
7. (106) Disney Movie: Tangled (2010) This movie is a super cute film about a unique take on the story of Rapunzel. Fun fact: Rapunzel was actually a Barbie in a Barbie movie before she became a Disney princess. Only one in history in fact that has ever happened. Mandy Moore voices Rapunzel, and Zachary Levi voices Eugene Fitzherbert aka Flynn Ryder. It's a story of a greedy witch, a magical flower that then posses its magic into Rapunzel's hair, and a thief. Who after multiple events turns good and does the right thing. Music, love, adventure, and comedy runs this films lifeline. I am here for it I love the animal sidekicks Max the horse and Pascal the chameleon. Totally recommend for all age groups as it includes some adult humor as well.
8. (107) Disney Movie: Prom (2011) Saw this movie a grand total of one time. I didn't enjoy my proms. I had one Homecoming I enjoyed, but the Prom at the school I went to we were not allowed to dance. It was more of a banquet with Prom dresses, suits, and decorations. We did get fed pretty good meals though. Anyways since Prom was something I didn't personally have a good experience with the movie was not a huge hit to me as it was to other viewers of this so I can not give this movie a true rating.
9. (108) Disney Movie: Pirate's of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011) Yo ho Yo ho a Pirate's life for me. We've arrived at another Pirate's of the Caribbean movie. As all my readers know by now this is my all time favorite film franchise. But with any film franchise you have one of those films you don't like as much as the others, and this is the one for me. Yes, it is still a movie I love, but I don't love it as much as the others. For one thing Will and Elizabeth were not in this film, which was sad. I like the love story of the missionary played by Sam Calvin (celebrity crush alert, he is gorgeous) and a mermaid. It was a very unexpected paring but a good surprise. We also meet a woman that Captain Jack Sparrow loved. In the beginning of the film moves very quickly we start out in a ocean near Spain as a man was rescued from the ocean and he had the journal of Ponce de Leon about the Fountain of Youth. That man is immediately taken to the king of Spain and the king sends a crew to find the Fountain of Youth. We then flash forward to London, England with a court scene were Gibbs, Captain Jack's first mate is on trial for being the pirate Captain Jack Sparrow. Obviously a case of mistaken identity. However, Jack has dealt with the real judge, by tying him up, gagging him, and locking him in a closet. Jack borrowed his wig, glasses, and robe. Paid off the bailiff and posed as the judge and sentenced Gibbs to life in prison, but he really had a plan to rescue Gibbs all along. Although that plan doesn't quite pan out the way Jack planned. His ride he had paid off actually took them to Buckingham Palace as the King of England had requested an audience with Jack. He tells Jack that the Spanish have set sail for the Fountain of Youth and everyone is under the impression that Jack has seen the Fountain with his own eyes. So, everyone wants him under their ploy to have him guide them to the Fountain. We find out that Barbossa now works as a Captain in the King of England's royal navy. Jack finds this hilarious then demands to know where is ship the Black Pearl is, because Barbossa had stolen it a few years before. We find out that the Black Pearl was "lost" and Barbossa lost his leg in that fight as well. This makes Jack furious but also helps his plan on escaping. Jack is chased by the king's men and then rescued by his father, Captain Teague. (This is the last we see of Captain Teague, Jack's father as the actor who portrayed him died shortly after this) Jack's father has a drink with him and then warns his son that the Fountain will test him and to be careful, then he disappears. Jack finds someone posing as him in that bar, but finds out it is Angelica. The woman he once loved and abandoned. She and the crew with her drug him and take him onto a ship. Come to find out it is the Queen Anne's Revenge, Blackbeard's famous ship. Fast forward we find out that Angelica is Blackbeard's daughter, and Blackbeard's Quartermaster has foreseen his death, so he is seeking the Fountain of Youth to save his life. A lot of other events happen, but of course they find the Fountain of Youth. We find out that the only reason the Spanish seek out the Fountain of Youth is because they want to destroy it. That only God can grant eternal life, not pagan water. So they destroy the Fountain. The Fountain grants one very unexpected recipient of the eternal life with the very last few droplets it has. Don't want to spoil that for you. Barbossa succeeds in his true mission, and betrays the king of England in the end and does not return to England. Jack abandons Angelica on a deserted island with a pistol with one shot. That is the last he sees of her. Ultimately Jack gets his beloved Black Pearl back, however the Pearl is inside a bottle. The fifth film, explains how they get it out. But the movie ends with Jack and Gibbs walking on a beach talking to each other and Jack saying "It's a pirates life for me, Savvy?" Then it cuts to the credits.
10. (109) Disney Movie: Cars 2 (2011) I've seen this film once, in theaters when it first came out. I didn't like it enough to watch it again. But I know young boys including my nephew enjoy these Car movies.
